Critical Care Unit

Critical care services began in the “old hospital” in the single Gordon Schultz Intensive Care room and in “Inter A” for Coronary Care. This developed into a dedicated 6 bed unit in 1976 and again into the current “new hospital” unit in 1991.

Our CCU nurses tell tales from the past recalled from rich memories. Their stories include the nurses strike, night duty, hospital hierarchy and life in the nurses home.
