Betty Whykes

Betty was part of Sale hospital for 52 years. She came as a small child with her mother who was employed as the hospital cook in 1932. At 16 Betty herself went into the kitchen.

Altogether she worked in the kitchen, wards  and nurses home until retirement in 1984.

Betty’s stories include kitchen times when her mother cooked and many amusing anecdotes throughout her long association with the Sale Hospital.
